A few ferret pictures of some of our little guys looking for a permanent place to hang their hammock |
Our Mantra is "We take in ferrets no matter what age or condition they are in". The current normal lifespan for the third most popular interactive pet in America is about 9/ 10 years with proper medical attention. A ferret is very kitten like and will play like a kitten his entire life but will never become "cat like" so to speak. They will use a litter pan and unlike cats they will come when called usually. They are quite intelligent and if they cannot fuel their inquisitiveness they will generally pull a "flat ferret" routine or go to sleep. This means that you must devote at least a couple hours a day to interact with your companion. Also, this animal is carnivorous so he must eat either ferret food, a good kitten food or a food high in protein and vitamins. Also, they must see a vet knowledgeable in this animal in order to properly determine and treat a disease specific to this tumor prone mammal.
